Romance on California North Coast

We believe that you don’t need to spend money to actually be romantic. We have such an amazing time at home every single day. We usually watch a movie, laugh a lot, give each other a massage, or drink some wine. We thrive on our routine and look forward to it each day. However, we love getting out of our comfort zone and away from the house to rekindle our love. It is nice to be able to give our undivided attention to each other without any interruptions.

Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary

We were treated to a Warmth of Love Package and what that consisted of was Cedar Enzyme Bath, followed by a 75 minutes Swedish-Esalen Massage. You first change out of your clothes and into a robe. Drinking tea while relaxing in a Japanese Garden was a great way for us to start our spa experience. When the cedar bath is ready for you an assistant takes your robe from you and you climb into the cedar bath. Now, the assistant has to stay in the room until you get inside the bath. She covers you in the saw dust as well.  You can say that we took a sawdust bath. It smells so wonderful and was so warm. Having a cool lavender scented cloth on my forehead felt oh so good.  It is not every day I get this pampered. I walked out of Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary feeling so much more lighter. Drinking electrolyte drink after my cedar enzyme bath felt so refreshing. When I got home all I could think about was how cool that cedar enzyme bath was and how I would love to make one of our own.

Korbel Winery

We love champagne and we knew we had to pick up a few bottles before we got to our inn. This winemaker has been making champagne for over 100 years so they definitely know what they are doing. The building itself is so gorgeous. They offer tours here as well but we chose to skip the tour this time because we were excited about getting to our Inn.

Albion River Inn and Albion River Bridge

This is one of those Inn’s that we can see ourselves coming to once a year. You have twenty two different rooms to choose from. Each of the rooms has a fire place, robes, and a spa tub. While your laying in bed, sitting next to the fireplace, or soaking in the tub your view will be the Mendocino Coast and the Albion River Bridge. You can watch wildlife from your window. One of the best parts of this Inn is that every morning you get complementary chef-prepared breakfast. They make everything from scratch. We loved the muffins every morning. This is such a romantic Inn and once you get here you will not want to drive anywhere.

Thank you Albion River Inn for hosting our stay.

Point Cabrillo Lighthouse

We love lighthouses so much and we feel that they are so romantic. I can imagine being the lightkeeper. You first have to walk to get to the lighthouse about half to 1 mile long. It is an easy walk. You can go up to see the lens only once a year. However, the light is always shining here and it is still neat to come close to the lighthouse. They have 2 houses and 2 cottages you can rent out.

Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens

To be honest with you, I actually wanted to skip this place. From the outside I thought it was going to be a very small garden but boy was I wrong because there is 47 acres of bliss. The gardens are separated into sections. This is one of those Botanical gardens you don’t want to miss. I loved the Perennial Garden and this is one of the first gardens you see so it is more crowded than the others but the closer you get to the Coastal Bluff and Marine Zone the less people you will find. There were so many plants and flowers that we have never seen before. I think the pictures below will speak for themselves. I was truly a magical.
