Weekend in Vancouver BC

We have visited Quebec, Thousands Islands, Ontario, Montreal. Victoria, and Banff. But we have never been to Vancouver before and we were only an hour and half away from Vancouver so we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to explore more of Canada. This was a special trip because it was Eves first experience in Canada.

The Greater Vancouver Zoo

The Greater Vancouver Zoo is a extremely large and spacious zoo. Opening in 1970 and having 120 acres it has a good selection of animals and large exhibits for them. With animals from Africa to Asia, Europe to the Americas. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who enjoys animals.

Located at 5048 264 St, Aldergrove, BC V4W 1N7, Canada.

Museum of Anthropology

Vancouver’s Museum of Antropology is a place to great place to visit. It is entirely full of cultural arts. From the cases to the shelves there are over 46,000 items. You could easily spend a full day here and explore the different cultures around the world.

Sunset Beach Park

I’m a country girl something that I realized 5 years ago when we moved to the country. I do love the city and all the people but sneaking away and going somewhere a little less busy does my soul good. We found Sunset Beach Park to be quiter and less crowded. There was also plenty of parking available. Since driving in our “white school bus” it is hard finding parking.
There are a few sculptures throughout the beach. We saw three. A arc sculpture, engagement rings, and Vancouver Inukshuk.

Stanley park:

Im so thankful that Vancouver has such a breathtaking park near by all of the busyness. It is almost as if we have ventured out somewhere far from the city when infact we were right next to all the urban landscape. We walked on the sea wall trail. We explored the Totem Poles and Seawall Lighthouse.

YWCA Metro Vancouver

If your looking for an affordable place to stay in Vancouver that is located in the heart of the city then this is it. Now one of the biggest benefits to staying here is that by staying here you help support programs who help single moms and families. This place reminds us of hostels in the United States except this place has comfortable beds and all the bedding. We stayed in quint room that had 5 single beds with a private bath. We loved that they have kitchens and a laundry room. This place is perfect for those like us on a road trip passing through.

Located at 535 Hornby Street Vancouver, BC V6V 2E8.
