Hula Hoop Harvest Apron

I wanted to create something that made harvesting fruit and vegetables a whole lot easier.  I did not want to bend down. I  also wanted my hands to be free. I desired not to hold a bucket in my hands because that just slowed down my harvesting time.

If you are blessed to be able to harvest your very own fruit or vegetables during the summer time and you want a way to accomplish this easier then make this hula hoop harvest apron. It is super easy to make and if you don’t have sewing skills then don’t worry because you can always use a bed sheet for this or a cloth curtain.

What you need:

  • cloth or curtain
  • hula hoop
  • sewing machine
  • one metallic medium rick rack
  • a few pins
  • a few hair ties

The first thing you want to do is get your hula hoop and remove the sticker. Behind the sticker is three staples. You want to remove those as well.

Then if you have an old bed sheet or curtain you can pull it through the hula hoop. If you simply have extra material you need to sew it into a curtain. It is really simple to do. I personally don’t have any sewing skills.

Once you put it through you need to staple the hula hoop back together. Then wrap the cloth around the hula hoop and make it tight. Use a hair tie and tie it around yourself.  Use pins in front to put the apron in place.

Make a small cut in front and lace through the metallic medium rick rack. Tie the metallic medium rick rack around your neck.

Now your ready to harvest your fruits or vegetables.
