SoCal Coast Trip

There are so many skills/information that I believe are important for my children to learn. If you listen to others or read a lot, you will find that everyone has their own opinion but I believe that each one of us should decide what we learn or what we need to learn.

This is how I see it: If anything is stopping you from doing something then you need to learn that skill/information. I tell my children that they either have to learn a skill/information or be okay with not knowing it. There really is only two choices. We can’t make excuses. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves.

If we think something is important then we need to make time for it.

We can’t complain about not going swimming because we are not fit. We either make time and get fit or we have to be okay with not being fit. If we want to host parties but we don’t feel confident about our cooking skills, we either choose to learn to cook or learn to be okay with ordering pre-made food.

I know successful adults who don’t know how to spell, how to cook, how to turn on the lawnmower, who don’t know the months of the year, who don’t know the alphabet in order, don’t know what a verb is, who the third, fourth, or fifth president was, how to read a map, and so on. The list goes on and on. Now, are they capable of learning these skills or information? ABSOULUTELY! Do they want to? NO. They could care less. They find these skills or information unnecessary or they haven’t needed to use them.

So we have to learn a skill/information or be okay with not knowing it. Remember we are all passionate about different things. We learn what we need to learn or what we feel is important for us to learn. We all think different information or skills are important to know. We need to stop judging and comparing each other. We need to start focusing on learning what we feel is important to us.

Pacific Park

We spent the day playing on the beach, riding ocean coasters and the Ferris wheel, eating cotton candy, and running into @ijustine (who is seriously the sweetest and so gorgeous in real life). As my husband and I watched our kids, we couldn’t help but smile and say to each other how blessed our kids are. What an amazing life.

Sorrento Beach

This is a perfect beach for a walk, run, or bike ride. There is a playground near by and you can see Pacific Parks Ferris wheel. If you want to get away from the crowd then it is here where you can get some peace of mind.

Harbor Breeze Cruises

Whale watching is something we do every once in a while. Due to being on land our view of whales and how many we can see is limited especially due to more shallow water. All these issues are resolved entirely by going by boat. That’s where Harbor Breeze Cruises comes in. We easily saw 6 or 7 whales and some of them we watched multiple times. They had people educated on these topics who walked around talking to those riding the boat. We saw migrating birds and sadly didn’t see any dolphins. Overall it was a very fun experience.

Aquarium of the Pacific

Aquarium of the Pacific has over 10,000 animals spanning over 500 species. They have so much variety due to the fact that they have so many different sections and have two stories and a large section outdoors. Most of their collection consisted of fish but they also have frogs, birds, and penguins. Feeding the birds was a highlight for us.

Gondola Paradisa

Gondola Paradiso is the only location in Ventura County where you can go to have someone give you a ride on a gondola. When we were here there were jellyfish around us which is an event that has not occurred before this year. It was such a relaxing experience. While there were people walking around nearby it was so quiet in this area. The Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, CA is a perfect place for a Gondola experience. We even say jellyfish in the water. The cruise is fifty minutes long.

Located at Victoria Ave, Channel Island Harbor.
