Marina del Rey is a perfect place for a romantic getaway. There are plenty of opportunities to take a romantic walk. Here you can walk and feel as if you are in Venice, Italy and then just a few miles away you’ll feel as if your in New England in a fishing village. There are also so many romantic water view restaurants to choose from as well.
I love being a wife and a mother more than anything in the world. My children are getting so big so fast and this year I’ve been really present. I really understand how precious these years that I have with them are. I spend more intentional time with them and enjoy every bit I get. I made three goals for myself this year like read 100 books by the end of 2018, run 2 to 3 times a week, and write one letter a day. This is the first time where I’m focusing on me as well and I’m so surprised how I have found time for everything and I still have more energy and time left. Do you do anything for you? If so, what is it?
Venice Canals
This man-made canals is an absolutely beautiful place to take a walk and look at birds and houses. It is surprisingly not crowded here. It is also not something that you would expect in Southern California because it is almost like your in Venice,Italy but a smaller version of it. These are residential homes and even if they don’t have boats to rent, strolling through the walkways is so beautiful. You’ll find that ducks absolutely love this place as well.

Fisherman’s Village
The waterfront mall buildings are so colorful and beautiful. It is also not a very busy place. There are a lot of different size boats and fisherman’s rigs docked next to the village. This is a great place to walk around. If you want to you can make it into an exercise and you can walk around the entire marina which will take you all the way to the other side. We highly recommend fisherman’s village because it is also a great place for bird watching.

Café del Rey
We walked from our hotel to Café del Rey taking the Marina Walk/Promenade. It is a short and beautiful walk. The view was so stunning and the food….WOW!!! It was so good and beautifully presented. We had a Caesar salad and truffle pizza. If you love light pizzas that are packed with flavors, then you’ll love this one.

Manhattan Beach Pier
No trip to Los Angeles County is complete without a trip to the beach. Manhattan Beach Pier which is 928 feet long honors volleyball players. As you walk down the pier you will notice lots of plaques celebrating champions of different years that the tournament has been held here. The first tournament began in 1960 and they are held every year in the summer.

Hilton Garden Inn Marina del Rey
What a great place to stay at because everything you want to explore in Marina del Rey is walking distance. The great thing is that the hotel is set up in a way where you do not notice the busyness that happens round you. We had a room in the inner court and what we loved about it is all the sitting areas throughout the courtyard set up just far enough from each other so it feels quite roomy. The design of the hotel is very modern and sleek. The room set up is very spacious. We loved the walk in shower.
